Ice Cave, Mendenhall Glacier, Juneau, Alaska #3398

Jun 24, 2021

Having second thoughts about entering an ice cave? This young woman from California literally got cold feet. Her family had previously visited this Mendenhall Glacier ice cave during a guided trip with Above and Beyond Alaska. They were so taken by the ice cave that they returned to see it again on their own several days later. The daughter was disappointed that the water had risen to flood the cave to about thigh-high in places. Undaunted, she took her shoes off and hung out under the ice for about twenty minutes before returning with lobster-red feet and a memory to last a lifetime.
