Glacier Blue Ice, Tracy Arm, Alaska #3438

Nov 22, 2022

I moved to Juneau in August 1979 to become the photojournalist the Juneau Empire, our local newspaper. One of my first assignments was a story on Tracy Arm and its Sawyer Glaciers. I was blown away while experiencing the blue ice majesty of this never-never land. During my 43 years of visiting this wonderland, I have seen a lot of really amazing blue ice, yet this blue iceberg sculpture wowed me. I thank Captain Steve Weber, owner of Adventure Bound, for making several laps around nature’s finest artwork to get my shot. This image illustrates the month of June in the 2023 Juneau Calendar. Purchase your favorite calendar in local Juneau stores or at markkelley.com. I will be at the Juneau Public Market at Centennial Hall this weekend on November 25-27. Come by to say hello and purchase your signed calendars. Thank you for visiting and for the gift of your time. Enjoy – Camera: #Nikon #D850, #Lens 24-70mm, Digital Capture, Handheld, ©Mark Kelley
