Exit Glacier, Kenai Fjords NP, Seward, Alaska #3079

Oct 24, 2018

Most people do not associate autumn colors with glaciers, and for good reasons. The world’s most famous glaciers are in Antarctica and Greenland and have no deciduous trees anywhere near. In Alaska we have plenty of deciduous trees surrounding glaciers, at least at lower elevations. During a fall visit to Seward I found the Exit Glacier terminus wrapped in a blast of fall colors. As a photographer I embrace the unexpected and revel in the moment. This photo illustrates the month of November in my 2019 Alaska Calendar. Thank you for visiting.
