Eaglecrest Ski Area, Juneau, Alaska #3430

Juneau’s local ski area, Eaglecrest, is opening for the season this Saturday, December 4^th. The snow has been dumping on Juneau for more than a week and there are 52 inches of snow on the top and 22 inches of snow at the base. In this image my son, Owen, skis through a forest of frozen spruce trees at the top of the mountain. The strong winds sculptured the ice-encrusted trees into these monolithic snow creatures.
