This is a photo of my son, Owen, skiing through a field of fresh powder at Juneau’s local ski area, Eaglecrest. Skiers in Juneau are dreaming of days like this for the upcoming season. Starting this Thursday Eaglecrest will be open daily through January 7th for their holiday season, with the exception of Christmas Day. For now only the lower mountain will be open with limited snow cover. Cooler temperatures and snow are in the forecast for the next week. I am hoping for wonderful holiday skiing, and can hardly wait for my first day on the mountain. This image illustrates the month of February in the 2019 Juneau Calendar.
