What a special moment to experience: pink clouds, Denali, and the Alaska Range casting a mirror image on Wonder Lake. I shot this classic view last August. I was that lucky guy that got to spend a week in Denali National Park traveling the road with a photographer’s special use permit, in my own car and on my own time schedule. This image is the cover of the newly released second edition of Alaska: A Photographic Excursion. I entered Denali Dream and three other images in the Memorial Maria Luisa Photo contest in Spain. All four images were selected! The contest is Spain’s most prestigious nature/wildlife photo contest and out of 1772 photographers from 79 countries just six Americans made the winners’ list. The overall winner with the most recognitions had six entries accepted for the show. Then, I was one of the two photographers with four winning entries. I am honored.
