Denali, Denali National Park, Alaska – Image #2948

Jan 27, 2016

This is another image taken on my week-long pass on the Denali Park Road in August 2015. The most classic view of Denali and the Alaska Range is taken from the north end of Wonder Lake, almost at the end of the park road. My new Facebook banner features this great view with Denali reflecting on the waters of Wonder Lake. It is a jaw-dropping scene and I never tire of it. But, I started searching for something a little different…a new angle and new a view. I found a great spot high on a ridge about five miles or so back from Wonder Lake, and I took this image from that vantage point at sunset around 10PM. The higher vantage point allows for the Denali and Alaska Range to loom higher and larger. I think the water level image in my FB banner downplays the dimensionality of the mountain range. What do you think? I love them both. Thank you for visiting. Camera: Nikon D800,  Lens: Nikkor 24-120mm F/4, ISO 100, digital capture, polarized ©Mark Kelley
