Cover of the Juneau Vacation Planner, Mendenhall Glacier, Juneau, Alaska – Image 2758

Oct 1, 2013

I have been lucky lately with a lot of really fun publications including publications in Patagonia and the cover of the State of Alaska Vacation Planner. The Juneau Convention and Visitors Bureau puts out an annual vacation planner and over the years I have had a number of covers for the bureau, but none recently. This image is of my friends, Cris and Jamie, kayaking on the Mendenhall Lake in front of the Mendenhall Glacier. We got a beautiful day this past September and quickly threw the kayaks into the lake to spent a day exploring the face of the glacier. We then got out of the boats and spent some time exploring the ice caves under the glacier. Like the previous photo, we are so lucky to live in Juneau with such incredibly quick access to such amazingly scenic and unique environments like the Mendenhall Glacier and the Juneau Ice Field. Enjoy the photo and thanks for visiting. Camera body: D700, Lens: Nikkor 70-200mm F/4, Digital Capture, Polarized, © Mark Kelley
