Coastal Brown Bear, Glacier Bay, Alaska #3065

Jul 11, 2018

At the end of June I spent a week in Glacier Bay National Park with my good friend Ronn Patterson, onboard his 50-foot boat the “Delphinus” to conduct a photo workshop with another good friend and photographer, Betty Sederquist. One morning as we were waking up we spotted this big adult coastal brown bear on the beach. Second mate, John Kipping, launched the inflatable skiff and we spent about thirty minutes photographing. The bear patrolled the beach at low tide, turning over rocks looking for food. Enjoy and thank you for visiting – Camera: Nikon D850, Lens: Nikkor 80-400, Digital Capture, Hand held ©Mark Kelley
