Chocolate Lily, Juneau, Alaska #3063

Jun 27, 2018

Right now the Point Bridget State Park meadows in Juneau, Alaska, are erupting in endless fields of wildflowers, including chocolate lilies, shooting stars, irises, and buttercups. After years of shooting flowers with macro lenses, I have started to use my extreme telephoto lenses almost exclusively. I have been shooting most of my flowers shots for the last several years using 300-400mm settings. I love the compression the long telephoto gives me and the out-of- focus patterns created behind the main subject. Get out there, the flower season is peaking!

Thank you for visiting.
