Chilkat Mountains, Lynn Canal, Juneau, Alaska #3096

Mar 20, 2019

I shot this photo Tuesday morning. I am so thankful to live in Juneau, Alaska, the winter full moons always set over the Chilkat Mountains. Starting at mile marker 16, there are about 15 miles of road heading north out of Juneau that runs parallel to the Chilkats across Lynn Canal.  I can almost always find a wonderful run of peaks for the moon to set over and sometimes even an island in the foreground. To get the moon glowing just as it is dropping behind the mountains is just timing and luck. Today I got lucky. Thank you for visiting, enjoy. Camera: Nikon D850, Lens: Nikkor 80-400mm, Digital Capture, handheld, ISO 2000, 1/100, F/5.6 ©Mark Kelley
