Black Bear, Mt McGinnis, Juneau, Alaska – Image 2941

Oct 1, 2013

When I look for a cover for my calendars, I am looking for an image that shows the essence of Alaska. Rule one is the image has to have great light. Next the image has to show the essential elements that make Alaska special to me and the world: wilderness, wildlife, mountains and glaciers. One or two of these concepts/elements has to be involved in the image to make the cover selects. It is rare that one image will have more than two of essential elements. I love this image because it has all four….mountains, wildlife, wilderness, and glaciers (icebergs). For me this is a perfect cover image and appears as the cover of the 2010 Southeast Alaska Calendar. Enjoy the photo and thanks for visiting.
