Aurora Borealis, Brooks Range, Alaska #3431

Dec 20, 2021

Getting to experience the northern lights is one of the unique pleasures of living in Alaska. One of the best places to watch the lights, also called the aurora borealis is in the Brooks Range above the Arctic Circle. I watched this amazing display on a frozen riverbed next to the Dalton Highway, the only road connecting Fairbanks to Prudhoe Bay on the Arctic Ocean. This image illustrates the cover and the month of December of my 2022 Alaska Calendar. Both Juneau and Alaska calendars are available on line at MarkKelley.com or at local Juneau stores including Super Bear, Juneau’s Artists Gallery, Bear’s Liar, Ben Franklin and both locations of Hearthside Books. Thank you for visiting and for the gift of your time. Enjoy – Camera: #Nikon #D850, Lens: # Nikkor 24–70mm, Digital Capture,Tripod, ©Mark Kelley
