It seems like summer is upon us and arrived a lot earlier than normal. In March and April, northern southeast Alaska witnessed almost five weeks without rain and plenty of sunny days. In early April, we had some days in the low 60’s and set multi-records for the hottest days ever. With the advent of summer, comes the summer tourist season. The Alaska Marine Highway Ferry, Matanuska, docks in Skagway and off-loads passengers. During the summer, ferries make daily roundtrips between Juneau, Haines and Skagway.
