Alaska Goes to Africa: Crocodile, Kruger National Park, South Africa – Image 2669

Oct 1, 2013

My website usually only shows images of Alaska. But for next couple of months, I plan to show images that I took last October while visiting South Africa and Namibia. Once you are out on the road touring Kruger National Park, you are almost never allowed to leave the vehicle. The only exception is when you are crossing bridges over rivers. The park has pull off lanes on the bridges, and visitors are allowed to get out to stretch. As a photographer, there is great perspective of directly looking down on the wildlife. Kruger is full of crocodiles, and I shot this croc from a bridge. I used a polarizer to cut the reflections from the water in order to better see the entire animal. Enjoy the photo and thanks for visiting. Camera body: Nikon D300, Lens: Nikkor 18-200mm, digital capture© Mark Kelley
