Alaska Goes to Africa: Cape Glossy Starling, Kruger National Park – Image 2662

Oct 1, 2013

My website usually only shows images of Alaska. But for next couple of months, I plan to show images of Africa that I took last October while visiting South Africa and Namibia. The cape glossy starling has the most wonderfully iridescent blue coloring and the coloring alone made me want to get an image of this bird. Actually the bird is relatively easy to photograph. The species in Kruger is quite friendly and ubiquitous at all of the rest camps and rest areas…almost to the point of being a pain. Besides it’s starling-like painful behavior, I can not deny the beauty of this bird. Enjoy the photos and thanks for visiting.
