Alaska Goes to Africa: Baboon Madonna, Kruger National Park, South Africa – Image 2659

Oct 1, 2013

My website usually only shows images of Alaska. But for next couple of months, I plan to show images of Africa that I took last October while visiting South Africa and Namibia. Kruger National Park is full of baboons that live in large groups called troops with anywhere between 10 to 75 animals per troop. These animals have a lot of attitude and are the bad boys of the park. Troop is too kind of a word. I would refer to them as a gang. But, their commitment to family and carrying for the young is endearing. Enjoy the image and thanks for visiting. Camera body: Nikon D300, Lens: Nikkor 18-200mm, digital capture -Mark Kelley
