Alaska: A Photographic Excursion book cover – Image 2506

Oct 1, 2013

This week marks the release of my newest book on Alaska. The book starts in Ketchikan travels up the coast through Southeast Alaska, then onto Prince William Sound and Kenai Fjords, then up through Anchorage, Denali National Park and Fairbanks, and finally ends up in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. The book premieres this Friday the 16th at the Mendenhall Glacier visitor center during the fireside chat program that I am doing with two shows: one at 6:30 and another at 8pm. The cover photo is of Mt. McKinley in Denali National Park. I shot the photo around 6am and by 7:30am the clouds had moved in completely obscuring the mountain. In my week-long stay at Camp Denali the mountain only cleared twice with both clearings lasting for less than two hours.
