Bald Eagle, Anan Creek, Alaska #3117

Oct 2, 2019

A bald eagle hides under spruce tree boughs along the shore of Anan Creek near Wrangell, Alaska. I have traveled to Anan Creek every year for the past twelve years and plan to keep going every year for the foreseeable future. The place presents such a wonderful mix of brown and black bears, bald eagles, and old growth forest. I go there dreaming about the next image to capture, but I am always surprised by something totally unexpected. Every year I come back with an Anan image that makes it into one of my calendars – knock on wood! This image illustrates the month of March in my 2020 Alaska Calendar.  Enjoy!
