Aurora Borealis, Arctic Alaska #3099

Apr 3, 2019

I shot this photo while conducting an aurora photo tour for two photographers last week. This past summer I helped organize a very successful four-day whale watching tour out of Juneau in conjunction with the Maui Whale Trust. Two tour guests asked me to put together a private aurora photo tour so off to the arctic we went. We got lucky and spent three nights under an aurora-filled sky. I have another amazing photo trip opportunity coming up this July with my good friend, Captain Ronn Patterson, from Dolphin Charters. We will be on board Ronn’s 50-foot yacht, the “Delphinus,” along with fellow photographer, Betty Sederquist. The trip starts July 7th in Sitka, Alaska, travels up the outside coast of Alaska, and ends in Juneau on July 15th. There is room for only eight participants. This tour will emphasize on photos of marine mammals (whales, sea otters, and more) and scenic images of the amazingly rugged and isolated coast. Photographers of all levels and non-photographers are welcome. Having traveled all over the state of Alaska, this trip will be one of the most remote and beautiful trips one can imagine in Alaska.
