Fireweed, Chilkat Inlet, Glacier Point, Haines, Alaska – Image 2786

My thanks goes to my good friend, Skip Gray, for sharing this location with me. He was kayaking from Juneau to Haines and came upon this field of fireweed with the great mountain background. He called me on his cell and told me to get up to the area before the weather changed. The next morning, I flew up to Haines and then chartered down to Glacier Point just south of Haines to shoot this image. I depend on my friends to tell what they see and to help me make my images possible. As the Beatles sing: “I get by with a little help from my friends”. The image illustrates the month of July in my Southeast Alaska 2013 Calendar. Enjoy and the photo and thanks for visiting.
