Caribou Autumn, Denali National Park, Alaska #2992

Feb 15, 2017

I shoot and travel so much during the summer, I usually do not have time to edit my images. I know that during the quiet months of January and February I will finally have time to look back, and so it is again this year. Last summer I spent two weeks in Denali and now I hope to share many of these images with you. I photographed this caribou in front of Wonder Lake and Denali during the last minutes of the evening light, just before the sun set over the ridge to my right. The rich warm light of the setting sun pops the caribou antlers and accentuates the reds in the peaking autumn tundra. This is the moment we as photographers live for…perfect light and a cooperative subject in an amazing Alaska iconic location. Enjoy the photo and thank you for visiting.
