Hubbard Glacier, Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, Alaska – Image 2567

I was working on my final shoot for my Alaska book and needed a couple of good photos of Hubbard Glacier just outside Yakutat. It was early September and the Yakutat airport was fogged for my morning arrival. The day was just gorgeous and I could not wait around for another opportunity. I chartered a local company “Wings of Alaska” and went for a three hour flight. The flight cost the proverbial arm and leg and more than I want to tell my wife but I got my two images for my book. This image illustrates the month of July in my Southeast Alaska 2009 Calendar and is on page 105 in my book: “Alaska: A Photographic Excursion” Nikon F5, Lens: 28-80 f/2.8 Nikkor polarized, Film 35mm Velvia slide film-Mark Kelley
