Tufted Puffin, Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska, #2967

Jul 27, 2016

I spent last week in Glacier Bay National Park onboard Dolphin Charter’s m/v Delphinus.  I started visiting Glacier Bay in 1980 and have probably spent over nine months in the park over the years. Last year’s visit produced a six-page spread in Alaska Magazine and an image purchased by the clothing company Patagonia. In wildlife photography hardly anything happens instantly. You have to take the time and invest in the belief a week-long trip will produce the moments that photographers live to capture. If you ever wonder if should you go, I say “go” because at least there is a chance. Not going means you have eliminated that chance. This photo illustrates the month of July in my 2017 Alaska calendar. Enjoy the photo and thanks for visiting.
