The Rhode Island-sized Juneau Icefield stretches from the Taku River in the south, to Juneau in the west, to Skagway in the north and across the Canadian border in the east. This photo was shot in late November in the Death Valley area of the 1,600 square mile Icefield. This photo illustrates the month of December in my 2006 Juneau Alaska calendar.
