Puffins, Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska – Image #2917

Apr 16, 2015

“Off and Running” – In my view puffins are probably the world’s most popular bird. These seabirds have to get a running start across the water before lifting off. The row of splashes behind the birds are left by their feet pounding the water. This image will be one of the featured photos in an exhibition of my work in Glacier Bay at the Jaeger-LeCoultre Boutique on Madison Ave in New York City.  Last summer, I shot still images for UNESCO while they were on location to shoot a short feature video of Glacier Bay National Park as part as of UNESCO’s plan to bring more attention to the planet’s Marine World Heritage Sites. The high-end Swiss watch company Jaeger-LeCoultre sponsored the entire shoot and is flying me back to New York City for the exhibit during the 5th annual Madison Avenue Watch Week. The exhibit celebrates the great relationship between Jaeger-LeCoultre and UNESCO with special events on Earth Day on April 22. The show runs April 20-25. Thank you for visiting markkelley.com – Camera: Nikon D800, Lens: Nikkor 80-400mm, Digital capture, ISO 800
