White Pass and Yukon Route Railroad, Skagway, Alaska – Image 2315

I shot this photo from the road that parallels the train track. The train was returning to Skagway. This narrow gauge rail was completed in 1900 as part of the Yukon Gold Rush and features 110 miles of track that climb from sea level to 2,885 feet in 21 miles.
