Slush Cup, Eaglecrest Ski Area, Juneau, Alaska – Image 2285

For the past three years, Juneau’s local ski area, Eaglecrest, has closed its season with a slush cup. The skiers, often in costume, race down the mountain and try to ski across a man-made lake. To the delight of the crowd, most skiers and boarders crash big time. Here, a high school racer in her tutu attempts the pool. This photo illustrates the month of March in the 2003 Juneau Calendar.
