“Line Up,” Denali and Wonder Lake in Denali National Park, Alaska #2993

Feb 23, 2017

Last summer I spent two weeks in Denali, which included a one-week stay at Camp Denali to lead the fall photo workshop. We were able to spend a morning at the end of Wonder Lake with the “High One” looming large. Once I got my photographers set up, I moved back to change my reference point. Perfect lighting conditions usually do not last long and often there is no time to reposition. I was second guessing myself and wondered if I was going to be out of position. The light on the mountain and corresponding reflection in the water in front of my crew lasted only a few moments. I  got maybe ten frames and the shoot was over. In hindsight, I think I got lucky and chose well. Enjoy the photo and thank you for visiting – Camera: Nikon D800,  Lens: Nikkor 70-200mm F/2.8, ISO 100, hand held, digital capture ©Mark Kelley
