Harbor seal, Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska – Image 2105

A pregnant harbor seal on an iceberg lifts its head to watch us drift by in a zodiac. I was in Glacier Bay National Park with Joel Bennett many years ago on a special permit to film harbor seals. I shot this photo with an Olympus OM-1 with a 300mm manual focus lens on Kodachrome 64 film almost twenty years ago. The photo can be found in the Juneau 2002 Calendar, on a 5×7 note card and in my book, Juneau Portrait II.-Mark Kelley
