The Hubbard glacier is the longest glacier in Alaska (over 70 miles long) and one of the most active. It is the go-to-spot to get images of a calving glacier. I spend four hours in front of the glacier last May, and had dozens of in-your-face ice events. It is hard to gain perspective but this glacier face is about 200 feet high (70 meters) and six miles long. It is a thrilling place to be. The half day spent in front of the glacier had to be one of my better days spent in Alaska in the past 35-plus years. Mark
