Raft, Mendenhall Glacier, Juneau, Alaska – Image 2035

Oct 1, 2013

Mendenhall Glacier is Juneau’s most popular tourist destination and Alaska’s third most popular tourist attraction. Thousand of visitors take the raft trip starting in the Mendenhall Lake, traveling down the Mendenhall river and pulling out downstream some 5 miles at Brotherhood Park. I shot this photo standing on the shore along the Mendenhall Campground with a Nikon F5 camera body using a 80-200mm F/2.8 lens (polarized) on Velvia film. This photo is the cover image for my 2001 Juneau Alaska Calendar. Thank you.-Mark Kelley
