Margerie Glacier, Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska – Image 2485

I wanted to show winter in Glacier Bay for my book on the park. My requirements for this photo were a high tide in the morning, a fresh snowfall the night before and a morning with sunshine. I waited three years for these factors to align. Then I hired a plane out of Juneau and did the shoot. This image illustrates the month of November in the 2007 Southeast Alaska calendar.
