Bald Eagle, Chatham Straits, Alaska – Image #2965

Jul 13, 2016

I just returned from a full week on board Dolphin Charter’s m/v Delphinus, to work with captain Ron in the “Around Admiralty Island” photo expedition.  On such an adventure I never know what we will find and surprises may lurk around every corner. It is all about timing and luck, and having your camera ready. On this trip we certainly had luck with bald eagles. Admiralty is home of the world’s most dense population of bad eagles, with nesting sites about every mile along Admiralty Island’s coastline. This eagle is swooping down to catch a discarded bait fish floating on the surface of the water. Enjoy the photo. Thanks for visiting.
