Sea lions, on Poundstone Rock Bouy, Juneau, Alaska – Image 2613

I always wonder why the sea lions like hauling out on the nagviational bouys. Getting up on the bouys is incredibly difficult, and they are always over crowded. What is great is that no matter what time of year, you can always find bouys packed with sea lions and their constant pushing, shoving, and bellowing are a delight for myself. This is my favorite sea lion loaded bouy because the photo includes the Eagle Glacier in the background. I shot this photo in the late afternoon from my 16-foot Lund skiff. Enjoy the photo and thanks for visiting. Nikon F5, Lens: 35-70mm f/2.8 Nikkor, exposure setting unknown, polarized, Fuji Velvia slide film-Mark Kelley
