Pigeon Guillemot, The Brothers, Admiralty Island, Alaska-Image #2966

Jul 20, 2016

Again, I find myself on board the Dolphin Charter’s m/v Delphinus, on the “Around Admiralty Island Wildlife Quest”. We were anchored in The Brothers and woke to find thirty plus pigeon guillemots hanging out in the rich seaweed of low tide. Here they are sitting in soft seaweed with a dark green forest in the background. Often the background is as important as the foreground. The soft lushness in the image is in stark contrast to the far more common background of barren rock and beach jumble found in the usual bird shoot. Enjoy the photo. Thanks for visiting.
