“Once Upon Alaska” Opening Spread…Image 2860

Mar 5, 2014

I shot this image in 1976 as a photojournalism student at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF). During my four years of undergraduate work at UAF, I would always skip the first week of school and head to Denali National Park for a week of shooting.  Over the past 35 years, I have spent months in Denali but this is the one and only opportunity I have had to photograph a cow and calf moose in Wonder Lake with Denali (Mt. McKinley) as a backdrop. My upcoming children’s book features many of my favorite images from all the years of shooting photos.  Stay tuned for a new spread featured here every Wednesday.  Thanks for visiting!
