In the Heart of Downtown, yet on the edge of Nowhere-Image #2918

May 5, 2015

This month my family and I are saying goodbye to our home of the past thirty years in the Starr Hill neighborhood in downtown Juneau. One of the things we loved most about our home is the less-than-five minute walk to downtown and the Mt Roberts Trail head just seconds away. We have had deer and bear in our yard, bald eagles soaring overhead, and the sounds of crashing avalanches echoing down from Mt. Juneau. What a wonderful mix of urban and wild. We were always excited knowing that we could traverse the Juneau Icefield from Atlin to Mt. Roberts to our backdoor. Alas, we never actually did… We were married in our home and raised our two sons in the only home they have ever known. Our departure from Starr Hill is bittersweet as we will really miss the neighborhood and our great neighbors. We are following a long-time dream by moving into a home on the water. With that said, our Starr Hill home is for sale! I even have a link for viewing this great place – /?p=3548  or go to Zillow at http://goo.gl/6bLJvn
