Harbor seals – Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness, Alaska…Image 2881

Jul 23, 2014

May and June is pupping season for harbor seals in Southeast Alaska.  Sawyer Glacier in Tracy Arm and John Hopkins Inlet in Glacier Bay National Park are two of the most productive harbor seal pupping areas in Alaska.  Here, a mom and her pup rest on an iceberg.  This image shows the interesting difference in fur color between the mom and her pup. I shot this image from the M/V Adventure Bound captained by my friend, Steve Weber.  Information on the Adventure Bound daily trips can be found on the web at www.adventureboundalaska.com.  This image illustrates the month of May in my Southeast Alaska 2015 Calendar.  Thanks for visiting www.markkelley.com!
