Another special moment from last summer; you may remember this post from when I returned from Glacier Bay. I entered this and three other images in the Memorial Maria Luisa Photo contest in Spain. All four images were selected for Honorable Mentions. This image is also the cover of the 2017 Alaska calendar.
The MML photo contest is Spain’s most prestigious nature/wildlife photo contest and out of 1772 photographers from 79 countries just six Americans made the winners’ list. The overall winner with the most recognitions had six entries accepted for the show. Then, I was one of the two photographers with four winning entries. I am honored.
