Fireweed, Brotherhood Bridge, Juneau, Alaska – Image 2732

Oct 1, 2013

I shot this image of the same spot as the previous website photo but from a different vantage point. The photo was taken from the more standard position–the raised parking lot in front of this view that is just off the main road connecting Juneau from downtown to the end of the road. The rider is Emily who works for me in summer and is my godchild. She rides almost everyday and often rides through or around this field. One beautiful morning she agreed to let me photograph her on the morning ride. The previous image was shot in the evening around 7:30pm and this one was shot about 7am. Instead of side light, this time of the day the scene is backlit giving the flowers a slightly different color and feel. The image illustrates the month of July in my 2012 Juneau Alaska Calendar. Enjoy the photo and thanks for visiting. Camera body: Nikon D700, Lens: Nikkor 70-200mm F/2.8, Digital Capture, ISO 200 © Mark Kelley
