Downtown, Juneau, Alaska – Image 2594

This is a December evening shot of downtown Juneau’s evening lights shot from Douglas Island next to the Douglas Breeze-in. When shooting evening shots I always try to time the shoot so there still is a hint of light in the sky so the mountain tops separate from the sky. The snow helps with this separation. I never wait until the dark/black of deep night. I like to time it so there might be a hint of magenta on the snow from the setting sun.
