Brown Bear, Pack Creek, Admiralty Island, Alaska-Image #2925

Aug 19, 2015

A coastal brown bear lies down in a field of grasses and sedges right in front of the beach viewing spit at Pack Creek on Admiralty Island. Although you almost always see bears at Pack Creek, a good photo can be hard to come by. I always plan on an eight-hour day at the spit and am happy if I get 20-30 minutes of really good action. Pack Creek is a good example of the long wait for a potential few minutes of really good bear action. This photo illustrates the month of May in my 2016 Juneau Calendar. Thanks for visiting.
