With its flaps down a bald eagle cruises down from a spruce tree to grab a herring off the surface of the water. The bald eagle is Alaska’s largest resident bird with a wing span of more than 7 feet. This photo illustrates the month of April in my 2007 Southeast Alaska calendar and is a postcard in my new line of postcards released this year.
